Mercedes-Benz On Pace for Invisible Car?
By emarketing | Posted in Dealership News on Thursday, March 1st, 2012 at 9:00 AMMercedes-Benz dealer in San Antonio, wants all of our consumers to know that we are proud to be a part of Mercedes-Benz as they offer the most cutting edge technology. This couldn’t hold more true as the people from Mercedes-Benz recently announced that they have developed an invisible car, sort of.
How this all works is simple, yet complex at the same time. The Mercedes-Benz vehicle that is getting the “invisibility cloak” thrown over it is the new hydrogen F-Cell Hatchback. In order for it to appear ‘invisible’ Mercedes-Benz had to outfit the F-Cell Hatchback with special LED matting. Once that was in place, all of the matting was paired to a Canon 5D Mark II camera, on the other side of the vehicle’s body. Once in place the camera displays the live feed, video from the car’s exterior, across all of the LED matting on the F-Cell’s exterior which allows it to blend in with its’ environment.
Although this effect is wildly awesome, don’t expect this to come rolling down your block anytime soon. Mercedes-Benz has incorporated a deeper meaning with this as they want to focus on the fact that the new hydrogen F-Cell has zero emissions, making it invisible with respect to pollution. Will we ever see an invisible/zero emission vehicle mass produced in the future? Likely not, but it’s fun to look at vehicles like this as the world’s car manufacturers explore alternative energies.

New Mercedes-Benz A-Class Compatible with iPhone/Siri
By emarketing | Posted in A-Class, COMAND on Monday, February 27th, 2012 at 3:49 PMMercedes-Benz of San Antonio, the leading San Antonio Mercedes-Benz dealership, is excited to announce that Mercedes-Benz will be bolstering the interior for the next-generation A-Class, with some technological advancements.
Mercedes-Benz’s new A-Class is slated to debut at this year’s Geneva Motor Show taking place in March. There, Mercedes-Benz will debut the A-Class which will be installed with Mercedes-Benz’s updated COMAND infotainment system. The COMAND system has received more of a face lift than the car itself. The new infotainment system features much more compatibility with the new Apple iPhone 4S, not to mention a more modern look and feel.
The coolest new feature about this new system is the fact that Mercedes is the first to integrate their infotainment system with Apple’s Siri, voice recognition technology. What this translates to is simple, those with and iPhone 4S and Mercedes-Benz’s revamped A-Class will be able to schedule appointments, send text messages and emails, get weather updates and access their iTunes library via voice commands.
Another cutting-edge feature for the COMAND infotainment system, in Europe, is the fact that by having the new Digital DriveStyle app drivers can stream AUPEO!, European online radio, and also connect with their social profiles. Another cool feature is that the COMAND system will simply be able to find your vehicle in a crowded mall parking lot as well as provide drivers with real-time traffic info.
The only downturn to all of this incredible news is the fact that we, American drivers, will have to wait to get our hands on this as it will be limited to the Euro-only A-Class for starters. Mercedes-Benz has also stated that this technology will be limited to the A-Class for starters, but will be introduced to the B-Class, C-Class and E-Class at a further date this year.

BMW also recently released specs on their new 2012 M6 Coupe, a competitor of the 2013 SL63 AMG, as they prepare to go head-to-head with Mercedes-Benz.
This new Mercedes-Benz will be run by a twin-turbo 5.5-liter V8 engine that pumps out 530 horsepower as well as 590 lb/ft of torque. It can also get from 0-60 miles per hour in a mere 4.2 seconds! If that isn’t even power for your liking you can add an additional ‘Performance Package’ which gives drivers 557 horsepower and a top speed of 186 miles per hour, over 155 miles per hour without the performance package. It also features a AMG Speedshift seven-speed automatic transmission.
The 2013 SL63 AMG is also breaking barriers as it is much lighter, 275 pounds lighter, than the vehicle it replaces coming in at 4,059 pounds. Mercedes-Benz was able to do this by using a lot of aluminum for the body. To be more specific , Mercedes-Benz stated that the aluminum body also features high-tensile steel and magnesium for a light, but super strong frame. Mercedes-Benz said that it took seven years worth of development to get everything just right, but the final product is well worth the wait.

Mercedes-Benz Reinvents the Seatbelt Once Again
By emarketing | Posted in Safety on Monday, February 13th, 2012 at 4:22 PMMercedes-Benz of San Antonio, the leading Mercedes-Benz dealer in San Antonio, Texas, is excited to talk about Mercedes-Benz’s new safety technology. Safety Engineers for Mercedes-Benz recently developed the Active seat-belt buckle, which will be implemented for the rear seats. How does this new seatbelt work? An electric motor allows the seatbelt to extend and retracts the seat belt buckle automatically. Due to the fact that the seat belt retracts automatically, the occupants in the rear seats are more safely secured in lateral movements.
Dr. Ing. Rodolfo, Mercedes-Benz’s Head of Passive Safety & Vehicle Functions, talked about the new seatbelts stating that, “Active seat-belt buckle is another element of our ‘PRE-SAFE®’ concept, which is intended to provide our customers with optimum protection in real accident scenarios. After all, we aim to offer a high standard of safety not only in all model series, but also in all seats.”
Although these new seatbelts are more safe, they do not compromise comfort, allowing everyone to appreciate them. Occupants of the rear seats won’t have an issue finding the seat belt buckle anymore either, Mercedes-Benz will light up the point of insertion.
People don’t buckle up for numerous reasons, the most being that seatbelts are too uncomfortable. With this new seatbelt expect many more people to begin buckling up as they will have more range of motion, while being safer than before. Also those with families can rejoice as this new seat belt system allows for easier car-seat set-up.
Active seat-belt buckle will also be incorporated with Mercedes-Benz’s PRE-SAFE preventive safety system. What does this mean for those with Active seat-belt buckles? It means that whenever the PRE-SAFE system activates, rear-seat belt pretensioners will activate and brace those in the rear, the front also, for impact. This keeps all occupants of the vehicle safe before an actual collision occurs.
If you’re looking to buy a vehicle from a company that’s committed to their buyer’s safety, look no further than Mercedes-Benz of San Antonio for a Mercedes-Benz in San Antonio. 2012 Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG To Arrive Sooner than Later
By emarketing | Posted in Mercedes-Benz ML63 on Wednesday, February 1st, 2012 at 9:00 AMMercedes-Benz of San Antonio, the leading Mercedes-Benz dealer in San Antonio, is excited to talk about Mercedes-Benz’s new super SUV the ML63 AMG. Mercedes-Benz just recently announced that if you’re looking to get your hands on one of these it may cost you a small-fortune, $95,865, but if you’re looking for a vehicle with performance as well as seating for five, you need not look any further.
As stated earlier, this vehicle has some serious kick to it, powered by a 5.5 liter bi-turbo V8 engine that generates 550-horsepower as well as an astounding 560 lb/ft of torque! The one turn-off though is that it won’t be to good on fuel economy, 16 miles per gallon, but I don’t see anyone buying this vehicle that would be deterred from its just under average fuel economy. On the flipside, the people at Mercedes-Benz have stated that it has the power to get from 0-60 in a mere 4.7 seconds and a top speed of 155 miles per hour.
If that isn’t enough performance for your plate, Mercedes-Benz has your back with their AMG Performance Package. With the AMG Performance Package Mercedes-Benz says that the ML63 will be able to get from 0-60 in 4.6 seconds and also carry a top speed of 174 miles per hour, almost 20 miles per hour faster than the standard unit, if you can call it a “standard” unit.

Mercedes-Benz to Unveil Plug-in B-Class Hybrid
By emarketing | Posted in B-Class on Monday, January 30th, 2012 at 9:00 AMMercedes-Benz of San Antonio, the premier Mercedes-Benz dealer in San Antonio, is excited to announce that Mercedes-Benz is planning to release an extended range hybrid vehicle in the United States. With Mercedes-Benz setting their hopes on increasing U.S. sales by over 20 percent, a few new vehicles to spice up their fleet wouldn’t be a bad idea. Joachim Schmidt, Mercedes-Benz’s Head of Global Sales, stated that you can expect to see a B-Class plug-in hybrid vehicle, with a range-extending electric motor, released in the United States only in the next year or so.
Introducing new vehicles to a fleet of elite vehicles makes sense as Mercedes-Benz wants to reclaim the title as the leading luxury dealer in the United States. Last year, they lost a close, hard-fought, battle with BMW who sold 2,715 more vehicles in a nail-biter coming down to end of the year numbers. The B-Class Hybrid Plug-In would not only put Mercedes-Benz in direct competition with the Lexus CT200h, but would also offer more vehicles sold in the battle for luxury supremacy.
In the United States, the C-Class is as small as it gets for American buyers. Across the pond, in Europe, buyers have been gobbling up the new B-Class like hotcakes. Mercedes-Benz even anticipates making an even smaller A-Class at some point also to capitalize on the high volume of B-Class sales. By developing a new B-Class hybrid plug-in for the United States it would not only offer them an ever smaller option for American drivers, but it would let them compete in new segments and also drive more sales towards Mercedes-Benz’s goal of luxury dominance in the U.S.
