In respect of the Gull Wing Group's achievement, MB USA will be donating 125 scholarships to provide children, in the Bay Area,  the opportunity to participate in the Park Department's exclusive summer educational programs  that are designed to highlight personal responsibility and initiative in youth.

The Gull Wing Group  was founded in San Francisco, California on June 16, 1961. It is led by Ernie Spitzer, a Gull Wing enthusiast, and was also made up of 18 other 300 SL Coupe owners. At the present moment there are over 600 members in the Gull Wing Group that have a 300 SL.
On June 10 of this year nearly 100 members of the Gull Wing Group, which comprised of 24 Gull Wings and 14 Roadsters, recreated the notorious image by revisiting the very same spot in Fort Point Park, a now National Historic Site run by the National Park Service.

Due to the fact that there were only 1400 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL "Gull Wings" produced from 1954-1957, it is safe to say that they are one of the most sought after vehicles on the planet. Obviously known for its staple "Gull Wing" doors and captivating design, the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL was years ahead of its time  during its release time. Its most notable component is the direct injection system.

Earlier this year, Mercedes-Benz released the SLS AMG to the world. This car was inspired by the 1954 300 SL and it shows with its sexy style  and head-of-the-line ingenuity.  At Mercedes Benz of San Antonio we are excited to see the progression of the new SLS AMG ,as well as Mercedes’ other new and used models that are featured on our lot.  Mercedes Benz has a rich car history, maybe the richest out there, and there are no signs of this rich genealogy stopping.
