The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter was selected by Hawaii’s State Department of Transportation, and agreed to a five-year contract, to operate as the sole “official” airport shuttle for on-demand service. The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter will be known as “SpeediShuttle” and began picking up travelers on 10/16.
The price for the 24-hour shuttle service start at $14.55 for one-seat on a shared one-way ride in one of the SpeediShuttles from the airport to the Wakiki area. When you stray away from the Wakiki area, the price starts to increase rather quickly. One-way rides to downtown Honolulu are $29.09, to Kahala is $34.71 and to Ko Olina is $84.75. Though this may seem like a lot of money, you can’t find anything more convenient at the Honolulu Airport. The SpeediShuttle vans will have a capacity of 11 passengers and offer customers complimentary Wi-Fi. Those who wish to ride alone also will have that option at a larger cost.
SpeediShuttle was founded back in 1999, since then SpeediShuttle’s core business has been airport shared-ride shuttle service to Maui, Kauai and the Big Island. Accompanied with the news of going to Mercedes-Benz Sprinters, Cecil Morton, President/Owner & CEO of SpeediShuttle, said that his company plans to expand its Oahu service to cater majority of the island.
The Honolulu Airport will also now feature a lot more signage to help point tourists to SpeediShuttle pickup points. SpeediShuttle has their drivers dressed in traditional Hawaiian apparel so tourists can easily distinguish them.
Mercedes-Benz of San Antonio, your San Antonio Mercedes-Benz dealer, is proud to see that our vehicles are being used for so many different uses. The Sprinter is included in FedEx’s fleet of delivery trucks, to luxury travel vans and now to shuttle vans. This just shows the versatility that Mercedes-Benz offers with each and every one of their vehicles.
